Dance Club

This class is designed for third year returning ladies and gentlemen. These young people are usually seventh and eighth graders. This class builds on years one and two (Social I and Social II) with concentration on dining skills and being in front of a group.

Social education instruction includes:

  • The First Meeting
  • Personal Qualities that Count
  • Party Savvy

Confidence in party and dining situation frees one from worrying about making mistakes. Everyone has experienced awkward moments- dropping a fork on the floor and wondering whether to pick it up or leave it there, or showing up at a party all dressed up while everyone else is wearing jeans. Students learn to feel comfortable and self-assured in social situations. These fun and informative programs include role-playing exercises and a workbook for each student to keep as a reference guide.

The dance education includes:

  • The Boogie
  • Cowboy Cha-Cha
  • Additional steps in the Fox Trot
  • Additional steps in the Waltz
  • Additional steps in the Shag

Dance Club participants attend the "Mystery Mistletoe Dinner Dance" in December.
